Support & Employment Organisations

The following organizations provide a wide variety of practical support to veterans.

Army Benevolent Fund

We give lifetime support to serving and retired soldiers and their families. They risk so much for us, but for them, it's "just doing their job".  In return, we provide financial assistance when they are in real need.

RAF Benevolent Fund

We are the RAF's leading welfare charity providing practical, financial and - in some cases - emotional support to all members of the RAF family, from childhood through to old age. We help with issues from childcare and relationship difficulties to injury and disability, and from financial hardship and debt to illness and bereavement.

RAF Personnel and their families dedicate their lives to their country.  We exist to ensure that their sacrifice does not end in suffering, poverty or loneliness. Whether it’s an injured airman fighting to get back onto his feet, a young child missing their parent away on overseas operations or a WWII veteran needing support, the Royal Air Forces Association is here to help all serving and ex RAF personnel and their families, whenever they are in need.

Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity

The single focus of the RNRMC is to provide support to the entire Naval family.  We aim to help those who are in need or who are suffering hardship; assist with the education of their children; and boost the morale and wellbeing of serving personnel.

Royal Naval Association

The Royal Naval Association granted it's Royal Charter in 1954 and is the principal Naval Association recognised by the Admiralty Board and is a Registered Charity.  Membership is open to all serving andex-service members of the Naval Forces including the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, QARNNS, WRNS, Reserves and all ranks and specialisation's.  In addition, anyone who is in sympathy with  the objects of the Association may join as an Associate Member.

Combat Stress

On Monday 12 May 2014 Combat Stress marked a milestone anniversary: 95 years helping UK Veterans with psychological injuries rebuild their lives.

Each year, a small but significant number of Veterans leave the Armed Forces suffering from mental ill-health. It can cause depression, anxiety and, in some cases, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Founded after the First World War, our work is as vital today as it was in 1919. We have a caseload of over 5,400 Veterans, including 662 who have served in Afghanistan.
